41 62 030 Adjusting Rear Lid Upper Section

Minor corrections (realignment work) are permitted if the existing adjustment options are not sufficient.

Observe gap dimensions  . See BODY GAP DIMENSIONS .

Adjust rear lid lower section  to fit before rear lid upper section. See.

The rear lid must be provided with all attachment parts for correct adjustment.

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Slacken screws (1) on rear lid hinge to rear lid until such stage that rear lid can still be moved.

Adjust rear lid.

When rear lid upper section is closed, lock striker must not make contact with or brush against rear lid lock.

Height adjustment of rear lid to roof:

Slacken screws (2) and adjust rear lid.

Check read lid wedge (1) on left and right for damage, replace if necessary.

Check rear lid stop (1) on body on left and right for damage, replace if necessary.

If necessary, adjust rear lid stop (1) to wedge.

Loosen screw (2).

Open luggage compartment lid and slacken nuts (3).

To adjust height of rear lid upper section, turn screw (2) in stop.
