51 43 230 Removing And Installing/Replacing Trim On C-Pillar At Bottom Left Or Right

Special Tools Required: 

• 00 9 317

Necessary Preliminary Tasks: 

• Remove rear entrance cover strip. Refer to 51 47 030 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING ENTRANCE COVER STRIP, REAR (INSIDE) LEFT OR RIGHT .
• Remove rear trim (C-pillar). Refer to 51 43 255 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING TRIM FOR REAR LEFT OR RIGHT ROOF PILLAR (FRONT) .

Version Without Electric Rear Seat Adjustment Only: 

• Remove rear seat back. Refer to 52 24 015 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING BACKREST FOR LEFT OR RIGHT REAR SEAT (NORMAL) .

Version With Electric Rear Seat Adjustment Only: 

• Remove supplementary trim on C-pillar at bottom. Refer to 51 43 240 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING SUPPLEMENTARY TRIM ON C-PILLAR AT BOTTOM (WITH ELECTRIC REAR SEAT ADJUSTMENT) ON LEFT OR RIGHT .

Partially detach mucket (1).

Release screw (2).

Detach side trim (3) in direction of arrow from retainers (4).

Unclipping side trim (1):

• Carefully insert special tool 00 9 317 between decorative strip (2) and side trim (1)
• Carefully press special tool to middle.
• Carefully pull off side trim (1) towards front.
• If necessary, disconnect plug connection for C-pillar trim.

Installation: 

Feed in pin (1) of side trim under oddments tray (2).

Make sure catch (3) is correctly engaged on decorative strip (4).

Feed out seat belt and remove trim.
