How It Works

The LCD display is a matrix of dots with backlighting in BMW orange. The brightness of the display is controlled by the instrument cluster. The LCD display is activated when terminal R goes ON. Check-Control messages are superimposed on the zone at the top of the LCD display and backlit in yellow or red.

The odometer and the trip meter can be switched on independently of terminal R. The readings disappear 25 seconds after the reset button is pressed.

If a dot (manipulation dot) appears to the left of the trip meter reading: Different vehicle identification numbers are stored in the instrument cluster and in the CAS control unit.
