51 16 211 Removing and installing/replacing finisher for storage tray

Necessary Preliminary Tasks: 

• Remove finisher for preselector lever. Refer to 51 16 210 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING TRIM FOR PRESELECTOR LEVER (GEARSHIFT LEVER) .
• Remove knob for controller. Refer to 61 31 192 REPLACING KNOB FOR CONTROLLER .
• Remove button unit. Refer to 61 31 193 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING BUTTON UNIT (FOR ON-BOARD MONITOR) .

If necessary, remove ashtray insert.

Release screws (1) on storage tray (3).

Open center console cover.

Press release button for center console cover and lever out finisher (2) for storage tray at rear.

Pull off finisher (2) towards rear.

If necessary, disconnect plug connections on insert at front.

Installation: 

Following parts of finisher for storage tray (4) must not be damaged or missing:

1. Front insert.
2. Retaining lugs.
3. Guide.

Replacement 

Remove front insert (1). Refer to 51 16 ... REMOVING AND INSTALLING / REPLACING FRONT INSERT (ON STORAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM) .
