12 14 610 Replacing right knock sensors (cylinder bank 1 to 4) (M60, M62)

Interrogate fault memory of DME control unit.

Switch off ignition.

Disconnect intake air manifold, refer to 11 61 050 .

CAUTION: Mixing up the knock sensor plug connections will result in engine damage!
The wiring and plug connections must correspond to the original routing. This eliminates the risk of mix-ups.

Release screws.

For tightening torque, see 12 14 2AZ in ENGINE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM - TIGHTENING TORQUES .

Remove knock sensors.

NOTE: Interrogate fault memory of DME control unit.

Check stored fault messages.

Rectify faults.

Now clear the fault memory.
