Removal & Installation

  1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM .
  2. Using Trim Tool (00 9 321), remove decorative strip from appropriate door trim panel. Using trim fool, pry out footwell light from bottom of door. Pry out power window switch assembly from door panel. Remove door trim panel retaining screws.
  3. Using Trim Tool (00 9 317), release door trim panel retaining clips. Remove and discard side air bag module mounting screws. Disconnect side air bag module harness connector and remove module from vehicle.
  4. To install, reverse removal procedure. Use NEW micro-encapsulated side air bag module mounting screws. Tighten to mounting screws specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Activate air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM .
