51 64 020 Removing and installing/replacing the top rear connection (connection of both wheel arches at front)

WARNING: Risk of burning!
Only perform work after engine has cooled down.
IMPORTANT: Driving without the connection is not permitted. (risk of damage to the body).

Necessary preliminary work: 

Release screws (1). (Not for M5/M6 model)

Tightening torque 51 61 1AZ .

Unfasten screws (2).

Tightening torque 51 61 3AZ .

Release screws (3).

Tightening torque 51 61 5AZ .

Release screws (4).

Release screw (5).

Tightening torque 51 61 6AZ .

Raise front connection (6) together with rear connection (7).

Raise front/rear connection (1) and disengage Bowden cable (2) at marked points.

Remove front/rear connection (1) with suspension cross-braces.

Replacement 

Modify SUSPENSION CROSS-BRACE ON LEFT AND RIGHT . (Not for M5/M6 model)

Release screws (1).

Tightening torque 51 61 4AZ .

Detach rear connection (2) from front connection (3).

Installation note: 

Guide lug secures rear connection (2) to front connection (3).

Only if replacing front connection (1): 

Modify clips (2).
