Removal & Installation
- Remove integral link. See INTEGRAL LINK .
- Support wheel carrier with workshop hoist. The brake hose must not be exposed to traction loads.
- Unfasten shock absorber from wheel carrier/swinging arm.
- Remachine special tool (33 4 191) if necessary. Cut out hatched area from special tool (metal cutting saw). Deburr cutting edges. See Fig 1.
- Lift out circlip (1). Pull out ball joint with special tool (33 4 191/192/193 and 33 3 333). Slotted side of special tool (33 4 191) should be pointing towards wheel carrier. See Fig 2.
- Pull in new ball joint (1) up to stop with special tool (33 4 191/192/194 and 33 3 333). See Fig 3.
- Install new circlip.
- Insert bush (1) into bore of wheel carrier/swinging arm. See Figure. Tighten shock absorber to wheel carrier/swinging arm fastener to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install integral link. See INTEGRAL LINK .
