Axle Carrier Rubber Mounts: Installation

1. Coat rubber mount with Circolight anti-friction agent. Arrows (1) and stops (2) of center sleeve must point in longitudinal direction (F) of vehicle when rubber mount is installed. See Fig 1.
2. Draw in rubber with special tool (33 4 155/156/157/159) as far as it will go. See Fig 2.
3. Position stop plate (1) on rubber mount. See Figure.
NOTE: Damaged threads in bushings on body side can be repaired with Helicoil 14 x 1.5 x 18 mm thread inserts. Thread inserts must be installed so that they are flush with original thread.
4. Stop plates with threaded pins must be installed in rear direction of travel. Threaded pins must be aligned in longitudinal direction of vehicle. See Figure. Tighten fasteners to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
5. Raise rear axle carrier into place.
6. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.
