64 53 550 Removing And Installing Or Replacing Condenser For Air Conditioner

A/C system is drawn off. Refer to 64 50 009 DRAWING OFF, EVACUATING AND FILLING A/C SYSTEM (R 134A) .

Remove intake hood. Refer to 17 11 031 REPLACING FAN COWL (M62 / M54) .

M54, M62 only: 

Remove intake filter housing.

Release screws (1) and remove radiator bracket (2).

Detach rubber strip (3).

Release screws (1) and detach lines (2).

Installation: 

Replace sealing rings.

Release screws (3).

Gently press cooler (1) towards rear and lift out A/C condenser (2).

Installation: 

Lugs of plastic guides (3) must be securely engaged in bores.

Replace faulty plastic guides.

Installation: 

If A/C system is opened for more than 24 hours:

Replace desiccator insert. Refer to 64 53 515 REPLACING DRIER INSERT FOR A/C SYSTEM .
