64 11 262 Removing and installing/replacing auxiliary water pump

Follow instructions for working on cooling system.

Detach expansion tank, supply tank for power steering pump and main flow oil filter housing (disconnect plug connection at level switch) in each case unopened from equipment carrier.

Release screws (1) and remove equipment carrier (2).

All: 

WARNING: Danger of scalding!
Only perform this work after engine has cooled down.

If necessary, remove bellows (1).

Unfasten plug connection (2) and disconnect.

Withdraw auxiliary water pump (3) in direction of arrow from bracket (4).

Open quick-release couplings and detach water hoses (5) from auxiliary water pump (3).

Installation: 

Ensure auxiliary water pump (3) is correctly seated in bracket (4).

Fill and vent cooling system, refer to 17 00 039 VENTING COOLING SYSTEM AND CHECKING FOR LEAKS .
