52 13 ... Retrofitting seat angle adjuster on front seat (normal/manual)

Special tools required: 

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

Release screws (1).

Release screw (2).

Installation: 

Replace Taptite screws (1 & 2).

Remove connecting plate (3).

Slide O-ring (1) on left and right onto shaft. Make sure O-rings are correctly located between seat angle adjuster and seat pan.

Install seat angle adjuster in seat pan and seat mechanism.

Replace Taptite screws (2) and insert.

Tightening torque 52 10 16AZ. Refer to SEATS - TIGHTENING TORQUES .

Replace Taptite screws (3) and insert.

Tightening torque 52 10 17AZ. Refer to SEATS - TIGHTENING TORQUES .

Feed torsion bar spring (1) into seat mechanism.

Engage torsion bar spring (1) in seat mechanism.

Installation: 

Make sure plastic protector (2) is correctly positioned on contact surface between torsion bar spring and seat mechanism (grating noises).

Lift torsion bar spring (1) with special tool 51 2 100 in direction of arrow onto seat angle adjuster.
