Eject Box
The Bluetooth handset is stored in the eject box in the storage compartment in the centre console. A SIM card holder is fitted to the eject box as a receptacle for the SIM card (Subscriber Identity Module). In addition, a safety information module and the charger for the Bluetooth handset battery are integrated into the eject box. When the Bluetooth handset is locked in the eject box, the charge level of the battery (e.g. lithium ion battery) in the Bluetooth handset is monitored. The battery is automatically recharged if a defined charge status is not met: The eject box is connected to the TCU (Telematic Control Unit) via a plug connector and the wiring harness.

How It Works
- Eject button: the Bluetooth handset is released from the eject box by pressing the eject button.
- Plug connector: the plug connector connects the eject box with the Telematic Control Unit (TCU) via the wiring harness.
- SIM card holder: the SIM card (Subscriber Identity Module) is placed in the slide-out SIM card holder.
- SIM card reader: the data on the SIM card inserted in the SIM card holder can be read using the SIM card reader (e.g. data of the network provider with whom the user has a contract). The data read is transferred to the TCU.
- Charger: a charger is integrated in the eject box. The battery (e.g. lithium ion battery) in the Bluetooth handset is charged using the integrated charger.
- The charge level of the battery is monitored electronically. The battery charge is also controlled electronically.
- The charger for the battery is switched on and off by the TCU.
- Run-on time: after switching off the engine, the battery in the Bluetooth handset remains charged for a certain time (programmable). The run-on time for battery charge begins with terminal R OFF (ignition lock position 0) and is specified and monitored by the TCU.
- Reduced risk of injury from loose objects inside the vehicle in the event of sharp braking.
- Continual monitoring of the battery charge level (e.g. lithium ion battery) and automatic recharging.
