Automatic Emergency Call

An emergency call is triggered under the following conditions:

In an accident, the Safety and Gateway Module (SGM) will transmit a crash message via a K-bus to the TCU. An SMS message is also sent from the Business navigation system to the TCU with the coordinates of the vehicle location. The TCU sends an emergency call via the GSM antenna in the GSM mobile radio network to a service provider. The Service Provider then tries to establish voice contact with the occupants to obtain further information about the accident (severity of accident, type of injuries, number of injured persons). Rescue efforts can then be tailored to the information obtained.
