51 13 402 Removing and installing handle strip (on trunk lid)

Difference between versions before and after 09/01:

1. Version before 09/01
   • 1)  Wide seal over entire handle strip
   • 2)  Open microswitch
   • 3)  Plug connection
2. Version after 09/01
   • 4)  Narrow seal only at top over entire handle strip
   • 5)  Plug connection
   • 6)  Small seal around plug connection (5)

Installation: 

In version (B), closed expansion nuts and shorter screws (3.5 x 13 mm) must be used.

Release screws (1) and withdraw handle strip (2) somewhat.

Disconnect plug connection (1) and remove handle strip (2).

Installation: 

Seal(s) of handle strip (2) must not be damaged.

Tightening torque, see 51 13 4AZ in BODY EQUIPMENT - TIGHTENING TORQUES .

Perform function check with trunk lid open.
