51 12 742 Replacing one impact absorber for rear bumper

(Bumper Removed) 

If necessary, remove rear bumper. Refer to 51 12 000 REMOVING AND INSTALLING COMPLETE REAR BUMPER .

Remove support on side member, refer to Removing trim for tail panel, top. Refer to 51 46 050 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING FINISHER FOR TOP OF REAR APRON .

Release nuts (1) on inside and remove shock absorber.

Installation: 

Tightening torque, (24 N.m.).
