51 16 ... Replacing clamping element for front cup holder

NOTE: Repair solution can only be used on vehicles up to build date November 30, 2003 and vehicles from build date January 1, 2005.
NOTE: Two variants of the clamping element are possible.
  • A = Fitting on new part.
  • B = Repair solution.

Replacement Of Clamping Element Variant (A): 

NOTE: Because there are optical differences between clamping elements (A) and (B), all clamping elements (A) must be replaced.

Compress clamping element (A) with snipe nose pliers in direction of arrow and feed out inwards.

Insert new clamping element (B).

NOTE: Broken-out clamping elements (A) can remain in the car.

Replacement Of Clamping Element Variant (B): 

Slide clamping element (B) upwards and lever out in downward direction.

Press clamping element (B) downwards/inwards and remove.
