51 11 794 Replacing A Shock Absorber (Impact Absorber) For Front Bumper

Necessary Preliminary Tasks: 

• Remove bumper. Refer to 51 11 000 REMOVING AND INSTALLING COMPLETE FRONT BUMPER (M3, M3 CSL) .

Special tools required:

• None.

Drill out rivets (1).

Release screws (2) and detach impact absorber (3).

Installation: 

1. Tightening torque, refer to 51 11 3AZ in BODY EQUIPMENT - TIGHTENING TORQUES - 3-SERIES .

Installation: 

1. Height of bumper is adjusted by turning hexagon socket head screw (1) on impact absorber (2).

1. Fit dust cap (1) on impact absorber (2).
