64 52 520 Removing and installing/replacing complete A/C compressor (M54)

CAUTION: Risk of damage! Follow instructions for compressor replacement without fail. Refer to 64 52 ... INSTRUCTIONS FOR COMPRESSOR REPLACEMENT .
NOTE: A/C system is drawn off. Refer to 64 50 009 DRAWING OFF, EVACUATING AND FILLING A/C SYSTEM (R 134A) .

Press ring catch (1) together, detach pressure hose (2) in direction of arrow from shut-off valve (3) and lay to one side.

Disconnect plug connection (1) in direction of arrow.

Release screws (3).

Remove lines (2) and (4).

Installation: 

Replace sealing rings.

Observe tightening torque, (20 N.m.).

Remove front splash guard.

Remove A/C compressor drive belt. Refer to 11 28 050 REPLACING A/C COMPRESSOR DRIVE BELT (M52/S52/M52TU/M54/M56) .

NOTE: Secure A/C compressor (2) against falling out.

Release screws (1) and remove A/C compressor (2).
