Coil Spring: Installation
NOTE:
On the rough road package version, the top spring pad (1) is.6" (14.5 mm) thick. See Figure.
- Check lower (2) and upper (1) spring pads for damage. Replace if necessary.
- Press spring pad at bottom into control arm.
- Preinstall top spring pad in spring.
- Place spring on spring pad installed in control arm and position spring pad at top on body. The spring pads must be positively seated in the body and the control arm. Otherwise, there is a risk the coil spring will jump out of the centering mount and cause noises.
- To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Thrust washer (2) on rubber mount must point to screw head. See Figure. Tighten screw to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
