34 00 010 Checking thickness of brake lining from model year '97
NOTE:
The thickness of the outer brake linings can be determined without removing the wheels. If necessary, move the vehicle until the aperture for the brake lining wear indicator (brake lining) is visible through the rim styling.
Insert special tool 34 1 260 through the rim and into recess for brake lining wear indicator.
Press special tool to brake lining, slide ring (1) in direction of arrow to limit position and read off measuring value.
NOTE:
Residual lining thickness of front wheel brake, refer to FRONT BRAKES . Residual lining thickness of rear wheel brake, refer to REAR BRAKES .
