51 32 170 Removing and installing/replacing door window glass, front left or right (Protection)

Remove outer window cavity trim, refer 51 21 300.

Remove sound insulation/protective mat, refer to 51 48 ... REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING SOUND INSULATION IN FRONT DOOR, LEFT OR RIGHT .

If necessary, remove protective mat, refer to 51 41 ... REPLACING PROTECTIVE MAT FOR LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT DOOR (PROTECTION) 

Unlock plug connection (1) for door window heater by pressing on lug.

Disconnect plug connection.

CAUTION: Perform the next work steps with a second person to assist (risk of injury!).

Connect toggle switch for power window to plug connection of door wiring harness.

Lower door window down to stop.

Slacken clamping jaw (1) at rear and release clamping screw (2) at front.

CAUTION: Disconnect toggle switch for power window from plug connection of door wiring harness.

Cover window cavity edges with fabric tape to prevent the door window glass from being scratched.

Twist door window backwards and lift out from top.

Installation: 

Adjust door window glass, refer to 51 32 154 ADJUSTING DOOR WINDOW GLASS, FRONT LEFT OR RIGHT (PROTECTION) .
