61 13 ... Front left wiring harness repair

Remove the driver's seat refer to 52 13 000 REMOVING AND INSTALLING LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT SEAT (NORMAL / MANUAL) .

Remove the left bottom panelling.

Loosen the screws and take out the cable cover.

Cut through the wiring harness exactly at the rubber grommet and lay the wiring harness back into the footwell.

Lift up the kick-strip and lay the connector from the repair cable under the kick-strip. Equip all cables from the main wiring harness that are of similar color with limit stop parts and pin them into the supplied mating connector. Connect the connector to the mating connector and lay in the footwell. Cut out and lay the kick-strip in the area of the plug connection.

Installation:

Set the supplied cover over the recess in the styrofoam.

Loosen the nuts (1) and clips (2), unclip the cable cover and turn it around.

Unclip the required terminal connector from the holder.

Unclip the required terminal connector from the holder, pull out the insulation housing and pull out the cable that is to be changed.

NOTE: Work out and dispose of the old cable from the main wiring harness up to the separating point.

Place the terminal connector into special tool 61 9 041/042.

Place the cable from the repair wiring harness onto the terminal connector.

Place the terminal connector into special tool 61 9 041/042.

Squeeze special tool and push on contact as far as it will go.

Push the terminal connector into the insulation housing and fasten. Fasten the insulation housing into the bracket.
