51 16 210 Removing and installing/replacing trim for preselector knob

NOTE: Apply handbrake and move preselector knob (1) max. to rear (risk of damage to interior mirror).

Do not twist preselector knob (1) when removing; otherwise turning lock in knob (1) will be sheared off.

Pull off preselector knob (1) with a forceful jerk.

Installation:

Fit preselector knob (1) onto selector lever, align and press down until it can be felt to snap into place.

Installation:

Push rubber gaiter (1) down until groove (2) is fully exposed.

Remove trim (1) with rubber gaiter (2) from center console.

Disconnect plug connections (1) and remove trim (2).
