17 11 031 Replacing fan cowl (S62)

Remove and install fan impeller with fan clutch. Refer to 11 52 020 REMOVING AND INSTALLING OR REPLACING FAN CLUTCH (S62) .

Remove and install upper section of intake filter housing on right. Refer to 13 71 020 REMOVING AND INSTALLING RIGHT INTAKE FILTER HOUSING (S62) .

The following work steps are shown using the E39 as an example.

Lever out expansion rivets (1) of coolant expansion tank.

Release hose clamps (2).

Place coolant expansion tank to one side.

Lever expansion rivets (1) out of fan cowl.

Detach sealing strip (2).

Installation: 

Pay attention to installation position of sealing strip (1).

Unclip AUC sensor (1).

Pull out fan cowl.

Installation: 

Attach lugs (1) to holders on radiator.
