54 12 004 Adjusting sun roof
Ideal adjustment:
Gaps (A) between sunroof and front and back of roof of equal size.
Height:
Front - flush to 1 mm deeper.
Rear - flush to 1 mm higher.
Initializing slide/tilt sunroof, refer to 54 0 ... NOTES ON STEEL AND GLASS SLIDE/TILT SUNROOFS (INITIALIZATION/NORMALIZATION/LEARNING OF CHARACTERISTIC CURVE) .
Closing slide/tilt sunroof lid (zero setting).
Press button to open roof briefly (1), then stop again (2) (inching function).
The slide/tilt sunroof lid must now lower at back by dimension (A).
(A) = 2 ... 4 mm.
Slowly slide floating roof liner right back (with clean hands, or wearing protective gloves).
Closing slide/tilt sunroof lid (zero setting).
Rear adjustment:
Unfasten nut (2) and replace.
Slide in adjusting wedges (1) on left and right until ideal setting is reached.
Press slide/tilt sunroof lid forwards, then tighten the outer nut (2) first of all.
Tightening torque - refer to 54 12 MECHANICAL SUN ROOF COMPONENTS .
Front adjustment:
Loosen left/right screws (1).
Push slide/tilt sunroof lid upwards or downwards until ideal setting is reached.
Tighten screws (1).
Installation:
Tightening torque - refer to 54 12 MECHANICAL SUN ROOF COMPONENTS .
Replace removed screws (micro-encapsulation) or install old screws with Loctite 270.
Press button to open roof briefly (1) then stop again (2) (inching function).
The slide/tilt sunroof lid must now lower at back by dimension (A).
(A) = 2 ... 4 mm.
Pull floating roof liner forwards (with clean hands or wearing protective gloves).
Installation:
Check function.
