Brake and clutch hydraulic system: checking fluid level, topping up if necessary

CAUTION: Brake fluid is toxic.

Keep brake fluid off painted surfaces of vehicle as brake fluid will damage the finish.

Check fluid level in expansion tank; if necessary, top up brake fluid to Max. marking (1).

CAUTION: If the fluid level in the expansion tank has dropped to the Min. marking (2), this means that either the brake pads are worn or the brake system is leaking. It is not enough merely to top up the brake fluid. It is absolutely essential to identify what has caused the brake fluid level to drop.
NOTE: It is absolutely essential to rectify any identified faults after consulting the customer and to issue a separate invoice.
