18 32 010 Removing and installing or replacing catalytic converter on left or right exhaust pipes: Notes

Removing and installing complete exhaust system refer to 18 00 020 REMOVING AND INSTALLING COMPLETE EXHAUST SYSTEM (M52, M60, M62)

Cut through exhaust pipe between catalytic converter center muffler down the welded seam with a grinder and deburr.

NOTE: Exhaust pipes on center muffler and catalytic converter are connected together and welded.

Grind off remaining welded bead on center muffler.

CAUTION: The apertures on the new center muffler are sealed with adhesive film.
Remove adhesive films, including those on contact faces of clamping sleeves.

Secure new catalytic converter to center muffler with clamping sleeve.

Nuts point downwards.
