NOTE: For Special Tools, see PROPELLER SHAFT - SPECIAL TOOLS - 740i & 740iL - E38 .

Remove propeller shaft. Refer to 26 11 000 REMOVING AND INSTALLING COMPLETE PROPELLER SHAFT .

Lift out retainer.
