54 12 003 Adjusting glass sliding/tilting sunroof lid: Notes

Special Tools Required:

NOTE: For Special Tools, refer to SPECIAL TOOLS - 740I & 740IL - E38 .

Ideal adjustment: Gaps (A) between sunroof and front and back of roof of equal size.

Slide special tool 00 9 340 between seal and lid. Checks (sliding out and in) must show special tool to display uniform resistance.

DIMENSIONS

Height	front	flush or up to 1 mm lower
	rear	flush up to 1 mm higher

Slowly slide roof-lining frame towards rear up to dimension (A).

Press switch in direction of "raise position" (fan setting) until lid is raised to max. setting.

NOTE: Grasp the bellows by hand only at the first fold (1) (risk of damage).

Detach bellows starting from center (A) towards front and rear (B) from glass slide/tilt sunroof lid (2).

Slacken screws (1) and (2) with special tool 00 2 130.

NOTE: Pull bellows down until screw (2) is accessible. Loosen screws only to the extent that the glass sunroof lid can only just be adjusted.

Close glass sunroof lid (zero position).

Press glass slide/tilt sunroof lid forwards, press downwards at front and rear until ideal position is achieved and tighten down screws.
