Bluetooth Antenna

The Bluetooth antenna is the transmit/receive aerial for the TCU (Telematic Control Unit) for communication with the paired Bluetooth handset. The Bluetooth antenna is installed inside the vehicle.

Installation Location  The Bluetooth antenna is fitted according to the model series:

E39 Saloon On the roof lining rear, centre
Touring Under centre console
E46 All Under centre console
E53   In the luggage compartment, rear, left
E85   In the storage compartment in the partition wall, on the left-hand side next to the navigation computer

Construction  The Bluetooth antenna is accommodated in a closed casing.

How It Works  The Bluetooth antenna is the transmitter/receiver antenna for the Telematic Control Unit (TCU). This communicates with the Bluetooth handset via the Bluetooth antenna. The Bluetooth aerial is designed for a frequency of 2.45 GHz (Gigahertz) (= frequency of Bluetooth standard).
