Removal & Installation (M Coupe, M Roadster & Z3)
- Disable air bag system. See AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article. Remove steering wheel. Remove instrument panel lower trim. Place rags over steering column to prevent scratching instrument cluster lens. Remove 2 screws at top of instrument cluster hood. See Figure . Push levers retaining instrument cluster connectors forward. Disconnect connectors. Remove instrument cluster.
- To install, reverse removal procedure. Levers retaining instrument cluster connectors must be up when inserting connectors. Perform TEST 09: MILEAGE STATUS (IN KILOMETERS) and TEST 15: LOCK OFF/LOCK ON under TESTING.
