Manual And Automatic Emergency Call With Option 612 "BMW Assist"

After the emergency call button has been pressed, the Telematic Control Unit (TCU) first tries to establish a connection with the service provider.

The TCU sends an emergency call to the service provider in the event of a crash message. The service provider will try to establish voice contact with the persons in the vehicle to obtain information about:

• The Severity Of The Accident
• The Number Of People Injured
• The Condition Of Injured Persons

Rescue efforts are taken in accordance with the information received.

The TCU also sends a text message with the location coordinates of the vehicle to the service provider for both emergency calls. If no connection can be made, the national emergency number will be dialled.
