Swinging Arm: Installation
- On all vehicles except M5, if the chip resistance protection is replaced and the swinging arm does not have a bore for positioning, the locating pin on the chip resistance protection must be cut off. Slide chip resistance protection to center of vehicle and secure with 2 cable ties. See Fig 1.
- To install, reverse removal procedure. Replace nuts and tighten fasteners to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Insert locking nut (1) in recess on rear axle carrier. See Figure. Tighten screw to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Replace disc collar nut. Fit eccentric washer (2). See Figure. Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install stabilizer link (1). Replace nut (3). Use washer (2). See Figure. Tighten nut to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Perform rear wheel alignment check/adjustment. See WHEEL ALIGNMENT SPECIFICATIONS & PROCEDURES under ADJUSTMENTS.
