Piston & Rod Assembly

  1. Remove both cylinder heads. See CYLINDER HEAD  . Remove upper section of oil pan. See OIL PAN UPPER SECTION  . Remove oil pump.
  2. Reinstall piston, connecting rod and bearings back in same position and in same installation location. Connecting rod and connecting rod bearing cover are marked with same pair of numbers. Remove connecting rod bolts. See Fig 1 . Remove connecting rod cover.
