Shift Modes
- Transmission is equipped with 3 different shift modes, Sport ("S") mode, Economy ("E") mode and Winter ("*") mode. Sport, Economy or Winter mode may be selected by using shift mode switch, located near shift lever on console. Economy ("E") mode may be used to provide maximum fuel efficiency. When in Economy mode, torque converter lock-up will activate.
- Sport ("S") mode is for performance driving. When in Sport mode, transmission will remain in gear longer before shifting and 5th gear is locked out.
- Winter ("*") mode is for driving in low traction situations. When in Winter mode, transmission will start in a higher gear to minimize wheel spin due to excessive torque delivered to drive wheels. When Winter mode is selected and gear lever is in "2" range, transmission will start and stay in 2nd gear. When gear lever is in "3" range, transmission will start in 2nd gear and upshift into 3rd gear. When gear lever is in "4" or "D" range, vehicle starts off in 3rd gear and upshifts into 4th gear.
