E38/E39 Multi-Link Suspension

The E38 and E39s use a modified version of the E31 multi-link rear suspension system. The system was modified to be more compact yet provide the same handling and ride characteristics as the E31 system.

The trailing arm was eliminated and all suspension mounting is to the sub-frame of the vehicle. The E38/E39 Multi-Link Rear Suspension is made up of the following:
