Cylinder Head (Right): Removal

  1. Remove upper section of timing case. Remove splash guard. Remove left and right heat baffle plates on front axle support. Remove drain plug for coolant on right engine block. Drain and dispose of coolant.
  2. Remove spark plugs. Remove coolant manifold. See COOLANT MANIFOLD  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Remove guide tube for dipstick. See DIPSTICK GUIDE TUBE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Remove exhaust pipes from right cylinders No. 1-6. Remove exhaust pipes from left cylinders No. 7-12.
  3. Remove cylinder head bolts from outside to inside in sequence. See Figure . Remove cylinder head. Remove cylinder head gasket.
