Cylinder Head (Left): Removal

Remove upper section of timing case. See TIMING CHAIN & UPPER TIMING CASE in REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Remove splash guard. Remove left and right heat baffle plates on front axle support. Remove drain plug for coolant on left engine block. Drain and dispose of coolant. Remove spark plugs. Remove coolant manifold. See COOLANT MANIFOLD under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
Remove plug connections No. 1 and 2. Unfasten cable tie and disconnect hose clip. Pull off hose. Pull heating valve out of bracket and remove complete unit. See Fig 1 -Fig 4 . Remove exhaust pipes from right cylinders No. 1-6. Remove exhaust pipes from left cylinders No. 7-12.
Remove cylinder head bolts from outside to inside in sequence No. 14 to 1. See Fig 5 . Remove cylinder head. Remove cylinder head gasket.
