Brake Caliper: Installation

  1. Apply light coat of Plastilube or equivalent to caliper guides.
  2. Check dust cover for signs of damage.
  3. Only clean guide bolts, do not grease. Check threads. Replace guide bolts that are not in perfect condition. Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  4. Replace plastic plugs.
  5. Tighten brake hose on brake caliper to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  6. Move front wheels into straight ahead position. Screw brake hose onto brake line taking care not to twist brake hose, and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  7. Install connectors for wear indicator.
  8. Install wheels and lower vehicle.
  9. Bleed brake system. See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM  .
