51 41 000 Removing and installing left or right front door trim panel

Lower door window completely.

Lift out footwell light (1) and remove connector.

Version with memory on passenger seat:

If necessary, lift out memory switch (2) and remove connector.

Remove rocker switch (1) for power window, refer to 61 31 115 REPLACING ROCKER SWITCH FOR SIDE-WINDOW OPERATION .

Lift out finisher (2) and unfasten screw.

CAUTION: Dismantle screw for lock retainer (malfunction if actuating rod is bent).

Remove cap (1).

Lift out locking unit and pull button (2) upwards to remove.

Installation:

Check gap (A) between cap (1) and guide (2).

(A) = 14.5 +/- 1 mm.

If necessary, remove button and adjust sleeve (3).

Unclip door trim panel all around.

Pull door trim upwards out of door clip and slide door opener (1) through the door trim panel.

Remove door clip.

Installation:

Install door clip in door trim.

Installation:

If necessary, replace damaged clips.

Installation:

Remove window cavity seal from inside front door (risk of damage), refer to 51 21 351 REPLACING WINDOW RECESS COVER ON LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT DOOR .
