61 61 270 Removing and installing complete wiper console

Remove fresh air duct, refer to 64 31 050 REMOVING AND INSTALLING OR REPLACING FRESH AIR DUCT .

Remove wiper arms, refer to 61 61 100 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING BOTH WINDSHIELD WIPER ARMS .

Lift engine hood into assembly position.

Unhook both dampers on engine hood. Open engine hood completely. Secure hinges with a screw.

Unfasten screws and lift off cover.

Actuate wipers for brief period and switch off ignition to cause the engine to come to a standstill outside its rest position. Disconnect plug connection. If the wiper motor is defective, remove lever (1) and twist linkages in order to gain access to the screws (2).

Installation:

Observe tightening torque, refer to 61 61 4AZ in GENERAL ELECTRICAL SYSTEM - TIGHTENING TORQUES . .

Unfasten screws (2 and 3) and lift off wiper console.

Installation:

Observe tightening torque, refer to 61 61 4AZ in GENERAL ELECTRICAL SYSTEM - TIGHTENING TORQUES .
