12 14 611 Replacing left knock sensors (cylinder bank 7-12) (M73)
- Remove intake air manifold for cylinder bank 7-12, refer to 11 62 143 REMOVING AND INSTALLING / REPLACING AIR INTAKE MANIFOLD FROM CYLINDERS 7-12 (M73)
- Switch off ignition.
CAUTION:
Confusing the plug connections of knock sensors gives rise to engine damage. Line routing and plug connections must match original routing to prevent any possible confusion.
Pin allocation on cable duct for engine wiring harness,
refer to 12 51 001 WIRING HARNESS - REPLACING ENGINE SECTION (M73)
Pin allocation on cable duct for engine wiring harness,
refer to 12 51 001 WIRING HARNESS - REPLACING ENGINE SECTION (M73)
Knock sensor 3 for cylinders 7 to 9.
Unfasten screw.
Tightening torque, refer to ENGINE - TIGHTENING TORQUES .
Knock sensor 4 for cylinders 10 to 12.
Unfasten screw.
Tightening torque, refer to ENGINE - TIGHTENING TORQUES .
Interrogate fault memory of control unit on Digital Motor Electronics (DME), check fault messages in memory, rectify faults and cancel fault memory.
