Trailing Arm: Removal

  1. Disconnect handbrake cable on the wheel brake. See appropriate article in BRAKES.
  2. On vehicles with drum brakes, unscrew brake line holder on trailing arm. Unfasten brake line on wheel brake cylinder.
  3. On vehicles with disc brakes, unscrew brake line holder on trailing arm.
  4. Remove brake caliper (without unfastening brake line) and tie up.
  5. Support trailing arm with a workshop jack. Unfasten screws and lower workshop jack. See Fig 1 .
  6. Unscrew upper control arm. See Fig 2 .
  7. Unscrew trailing arm to body. See Figure .
