Shock Absorber: Removal

On convertible models, remove shock absorber nuts located under plastic caps in the convertible top compartment. On all other vehicles, remove trunk trim.
Raise and support vehicle. Using a jack, support trailing arm and unfasten screw (1). See Fig 1 .
If necessary, remove reinforcement plate. Pull off cap. Unscrew nuts and remove shock absorber. See Fig 2 .
