Disassembly & Reassembly
- Lift out snap ring. Press output shaft from clutch unit. Lift off carrier. Carefully press one-way clutch cage out of outer race. Ensure spring pressure does not cause needle bearings to jump out of cage. See Figure .
- Place one-way clutch cage on outer race and align. Press in one-way clutch cage against stop. Turn until metal edge engages in holding groove of outer race.
- Use carrier to turn one-way clutch outer race clockwise and mount outer race on inner race. Clearance between one-way clutch inner race and outer race should be at least .004" (.10 mm). See Figure .
