Clutches "C" & "F": Disassembly

  1. Remove sun gear, planetary gear and planetary carrier. Lift out snap ring, remove hollow gear and planetary plate. Remove thrust washers, axial bearing and spacer. Lift out snap ring and remove hollow gear. Remove sun gear, planetary carrier, angled washer, axial bearing and thrust washer.
  2. Remove Special Tool (241010) and lift cylinder "F" off of cylinder "E". Lift cylinder "E" out of output shell. Remove thrust washer, axial bearing and steel/copper angled washer. Lift off housing "C" from output shell. Remove thrust washer, axial bearing and steel-copper angled washer, keep components in order for reassembly. Remove snap ring from brake housing "F". Remove clutch plate set "F". See Figure and Figure .
  3. Remove piston for clutch "F". Press diaphragm spring down with Spring Compressor (242020) and lift out split retaining ring.
  4. Press out clutch piston "F" with 2 mandrels. Remove clutch plates and discs in order for reassembly.
  5. Remove snap ring from clutch "C" housing and remove clutch plate set. Keep components in order for reassembly. See Figure .
  6. Remove piston for clutch "C". Press diaphragm spring down with spring compressor and remove retaining ring.
  7. Lift off thrust cover and press clutch "C" piston with compressed air applied through oil bore. Discard "O" rings and seal.
