Centrifugal Governor: Disassembly

  1. Remove transmission extension. Pull off parking lock gear and centrifugal governor. If equipped with bearing race, pull off parking lock gear with a puller. See Figure .
  2. Remove parking lock gear on centrifugal governor. Remove cover from case, lift out circlip and remove washer. Remove governor piston, spring and governor bushing. Remove spring clip and balance weight.
  3. Clean all parts and check for signs of wear or damage. If any components show wear, replace complete governor assembly. See Figure .
