Disassembly Of Front Valve Body

  1. Note size, position and direction of restrictors. Remove restrictors and plastic ball. Remove manual control valve.
  2. Remove clutch "C" and "D" cover plate. Remove clutch "C" valve and spring. Remove 2-3 shift valve piston.
  3. Note position of clutch "C" valve retaining clip and clutch "C" valve. Remove clutch "C" valve retaining clip and clutch "C" valve. Remove clutch "B" damper springs and spring seat. Remove clutch "B" check ball capsule.
  4. Remove 1-2 shift valve piston and clutch "D" damper spring and washer. Note position of, and remove clutch "D" valve retaining clip. Remove clutch "D" valve and collar.
  5. Remove primary regulator valve spring and regulator valve. Remove remaining cover plate, torque converter pressure valve and spring.
  6. Remove 2-3 shift valve and spring and clutch "C" damper spring and spring seat. Note position of and remove clutch "B" valve retaining clip and valve.
  7. Remove 1-2 shift valve and spring. Carefully remove clutch "A" valve spring retaining clip, spring and spring seat. Remove clutch "A" valve and clean all valve body components.
