Clutch "E" & "F": Disassembly

  1. Remove sun gear and planetary carrier. Remove thrust washers and axial bearing. Remove disassembly sleeve and lift clutch "F" assembly off of clutch "E" assembly. Remove clutch "E" assembly from output shell.
  2. Remove thrust washer, axial bearing and steel/copper angled washer, keeping components in order for reassembly. To disassemble appropriate clutch, remove snap ring, discs and plates from cylinder. See Figure and Figure . Note number and arrangement of discs and plates for reassembly reference.
  3. Using press and spring compressor, compress spring. Remove snap ring. Release press. On clutch "E", remove spring, pressure plate and piston from cylinder. See Figure . On clutch "F", remove spring and piston from cylinder. See Figure . On all applications, remove "O" rings and seal rings.
